If I listen to too much political talk radio, I have trouble with #3 and #4. All the “left leaning” things that are happening make me upset and want to despair. I had to stop listening for the most part because it was leading me into sin. I would love to have a stronger faith than that but for now I’ll stick to getting some little snippets of news from FOX and the rest of what I spend time listening to will continue to be christian music and sermons. I’d rather thoughts of Christ and the cross be swirling around in my head than anger or sinful worry over the rapid decline of our government.
If our measure of goodness, grace, forgiveness and ultimately perfection is Christ, we should look to see what He was tempted with for guidance on how to respond to temptation. Jesus’ temptations were always to take him away from God the Father/Creator’s goals, as is our own temptations. This… we should be mindful of. Though we are not, and will never be, perfect, our adversary’s goal is to destroy our relationship with God and our eternal future with Him. When we recognize this spiritual battle, we can stand firm against it, steadfast in our faith and commitment to Christ as our Savior.
